The collection are three sizes of glass trays. When the trays are fully or partially overlapped, the overlapping parts will form a variety of unexpected shadow patterns. The trays are moved or the angles are changed, these shadow patterns will change into new patterns or disappear at any time.
The designer challenges conventions and uses the characteristics of polarizing film, glass material technology, light and background environment to break the boredom of people using unchanging trays in the past. The characteristic of polarizing film is that it blocks light when stacked in parallel, and allows light to pass through when stacked at a 90° angle.
Therefore, the surface of the tray changes from clear and transparent glass to stripes and checkerboards glass, which turns a simple storage container into a fresh dynamic display. Everyday, ordinary objects that people are familiar with produce flexible changes in random moods and needs.
The high-definition glass tray can be integrated into multiple environments and spaces, and brings value for use and decoration. When two or three trays are freely combined, the unexpected pattern is reminiscent of the fleeting shadows cast by light in the stacking.
As the trays are rotated and moved, the pattern changes constantly. This concept is proposed to give people the opportunity to discover changes, thoughts and surprises in their daily lives.
